The family always prioritised education and encouraged Janine to pursue her dreams. Along with inspirational teachers at school and at the dance studios she attended.

Janine went to Napier Girls High School and continued dancing in Napier until she earned a scholarship to the National Ballet, Wellington (now the NZ School of Dance) to pursue fulltime dance and study as a dance teacher. Janine’s dream has always been to teach and passed her Royal Academy of Dance Teachers Diploma. Study included History of Dance and Anatomy. As a student teacher she taught for various teachers in Wellington including examiners and a teacher who went on to live in London and headed up the board of examiners worldwide and created the current RAD Syllabus for the world.
